In line with one of ORWH’s core missions—to develop and support opportunities to recruit, retain, and advance women in biomedical careers—this Facebook Live event will focus on the topic of leadership among women in STEMM fields.

The panelists will discuss:

  • Their research and career paths
  • The role of institutions and mentors in helping to ensure women are provided the tools and support needed to excel in leadership roles
  • How increasing the number of women, especially women of color, in these roles can help address health disparities and improve quality of care and health outcomes for all.

Participants are encouraged to submit questions in these areas during the event and ask for advice on entering and advancing in biomedical and other STEMM careers.

ORWH’s Facebook Live series features women in science who are making significant contributions to their fields and who inspire women and girls to pursue careers in STEMM.

Register for this discussion via Facebook (by clicking “Interested”) or on Zoom.

Closed- captioning will be available.

Between the panelist, UMBC Alumn, Dr. Kizzmekia Corbett, Senior Research Fellow, NIH Vaccine Research Center, the Scientific Lead, Coronavirus Vaccines & Immunopathogenesis (coVip) Team, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Deseases (NIAID).
