Description
The UMBC Department of Education Research Seminar continues in October with a presentation by Dr. Amy Tondreau. Drawing on three interrelated studies, Dr. Tondreau will explore what it means to treat disability as a cultural identity worthy of sustaining and how we can develop disability cultural competence in our classrooms. She will share examples of how disabled educators leverage their expertise and understanding of the social, cultural, and medical aspects of disability in non-stigmatizing, humanizing teaching practices that can inform all teachers and teacher educators.
