This event aims to debunk some of the Gradschool rites of passage. We invited a 1st generation panel of current graduate students to share information they believe students should know as soon as they start their graduate school tenure, including information about resources, hidden curriculum, expectations and best practices. 

This event will be helpful for 1st generation students (if your parents don't have the degree you are currently working towards), graduate students in their 1st year of graduate school at UMBC, students from underserved communities, and international students.

This event collaborates with the Graduate Student Association (GSA) at UMBC.
