UMBC Presents at APLU Council on Research Annual Meeting

In the recent 2017 annual meeting of the Council on Research (CoR) of the Assocation of Public and Land-Grant Universities (APLU), UMBC's participation included co-organizing two sessions, speakers in two panels, and membership in the new class of APLU CoR Research Leadership Fellows.

Karl Steiner, UMBC's vice president for research, co-organized the opening session, Bridging the Cultural Divide: Bringing the Arts, Humanities, and Sciences Together. Lee Boot, director of the UMBC Imaging Research Center (IRC) was one of this session's five panelists. Dr. Steiner also organized a later session on Open Data and Public Access, which featured Jack Suess, UMBC's 
vice president for information technology, as one of three speakers.

Also in the program, Don Engel, UMBC's assistant vice president for research, was inducted into the first class of APLU CoR's new Research Leadership Fellows program.
